Ski season started!

Ski is probably the most popular activity in Brasov in winter.

Poiana Brasov’s staff announced that “the slopes are fully usable, the only thing that it is needed is snow or cold weather. All snow towers and machines are waiting”. Basically the ski resort will be opened when the snow will come.

Because of the Young Winter Olympics held here in 2014 the slopes were renewed and there are all kind of slopes: from the easiest (blue ones) to the hardest (black ones). Here you can find a list of the slopes:

1. Lupului – hard, 2860 m
2. Sulinar – moderate, 2500 m
3. Drumul Rosu – easy, 4600 m
4. Sub Teleferic + Ruia – hard, 540 m si 495 m
5. Kanzel – hard, 450 m
6. Bradul – easy, 465 m
7. Stadion – easy, 325 m

The opening hour is 9AM and the closing hour is 4PM. One slope makes an exception, the “Bradului” slope. This is a easy one situated at the bottom of the big slopes, the closing hour being 8PM.

The way to Poiana Brasov is easy. From city center there is a 12 km road that is going up. Find more informations here.
